I am strongly saddened to hear about Helmut’s passing, whom I knew since the early days when his group searched for proton-antiproton bound states at the CERN-PS. Together we wrote the proposal for the Crystal Barrel project at the CERN-LEAR and the funds for the CsI crystals were obtained from KfA thanks to his strong dedicated support. Helmut was an aficionado of antiproton physics and will be deeply missed. My deepest sympathies to his wife and his family.
