The PANDA detector will operate in two different magnetic fields: a 2T solenoidal field in the target spectrometer and a 1T dipol field in the forward region.

To provide measurement of charged particle trajectories with high resolution over the complete solid angle four different tracking systems are forseen.

Please follow one of the links below to learn more:

Micro Vertex Detector

A silicon based high precision vertex detector.

Central Tracker

Straw Tube Tracker or Time Projection Chamber for principal track reconstruction.

Gas Electron Multiplier Stations

Tracking of forward tracks in the target spectrometer.

Forward Tracker

A set of wire chambers to provide tracking information for very forward tracks in the forward spectrometer.
