Postdoctoral Position in Experimental Hadronic Nuclear Physics

The Hadronic Nuclear Physics Group at Florida State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the GlueX experiment at Jefferson Lab. The group has a long involvement with experiments at Jefferson Lab including CLAS in Hall B and GlueX in Hall D, and has a wide range of interests in hadronic physics, with a particular interest in the search for hybrid and other unconventional mesons as well as excited baryons. More information on the research group and the Physics Department at FSU can be found at http://hadron.physics.fsu.edu and http://physics.fsu.edu .

The GlueX experiment (http://gluex.org) has begun a multi-year data-taking program, and the analysis of these data will lead to a rich program of physics results. We seek a candidate with a strong interest in the GlueX physics program to lead physics analyses of these data. The successful applicant will be based at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, will be expected to take a role in supporting the running of the experiment, and to provide guidance to graduate and undergraduate students. A Ph.D. in experimental high-energy or nuclear physics is required. Experience with amplitude analysis, high throughput computing, or advanced software development is a plus.

Applications including a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a brief statement of research experience and interests, and three letters of recommendation should be sent to the Hadronic Nuclear Physics Group (postdoc@hadron.physics.fsu.edu), Florida State University, Department of Physics, 77 Chieftan Way, Tallahassee, FL 32306.

Tallahassee, Florida, is the State Capital and a college town with a vibrant cultural scene, home to about 65,000 students. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until suitable candidates are found.
